Of course. It’s not like you announce to people where you’re from when you go between the two. Even if they know where you’re from, the tension between the two is supposed to be between the governments, not the people.
I believe it’s GENERALLY safe (please read on!). My father is a Taiwanese and he travels all over in China 2 to 3 times a year, each trip is 2 to 3 months long. HOWEVER… I do have to warn you that you might have a higer risk if travel by yourself, especially if you’re a female. I’ve heard horror stories of female tourists, even local Chinese females, been abducted and sold to males that can’t find a wife (because of the extreme inbalance of male to female ratio due to the one-child policy). Also there were instances for tourist, even locals to lose their kids to child labor–some childrens are abducted and sold to underground factories to work. If they don’t comply they get beaten, and if they get sick they don’t get treated, some end up dead… These scandles are usually well covered as result of low human right standard and high demand of economic growth and pressure from the rich who use child labor.
If I were you I’d still take a trip in China, just exercise caution at all time and stay in groups. Hold on to your kids at all times and never let them out of your reach for a second. Good luck!
Sure it’s safe – or unsafe as for anybody else.
As a Taiwanese you can blend in better then other foreigners. In China I would suggest (actually to everybody) to keep a low profile. Don’t show your wealth, be modest.
OMG! China is one of the safest places in the world.
is safer than american travel to those places
they give each other special treats
The US and UK policy do not want them safe.
YES! We’re not monsters.
