a fat US southerner from the countryside who eats fried chicken the whole life will be probably looked down upon by an urban vegan yuppie from san francisco.
you can say it’s a personal choice, she chooses to be fat. or she’s just not responsible for her health, look, figure, sex life(imagine how hard to make every move and she can sufficate her lover), future etc…
i dont think it has anything to do with her race, it’s just her size or weight.

The Chinese are very “matter of fact” when discussing people’s physical characteristics. Often they will tell you you are getting fat since the last time they saw you and its not necessarily considered an insult. It just means youve been eating well so life must be going well for you.
Traditionally extra weight meant you were wealthy and it also means yr a happy person. Look at the representations of the Buddha in China as opposed to the Indian type. Hes fat and happy, big smile. Mao was not a little guy either.
Being excessively fat is not going to be looked at as an especially attractive thing for a woman but in many cases they were probably just being honest without any real sense of maliciousness as they don’t have that thing where you pretend physical conditions don’t exist to protect peoples’ feelings.

Let’s be fair, rueful remarks are every where and has no boundary. It also doesn’t means that a girl born in China received rude remarks about her size but gained pity when she is in another country and this naive girl thought this country’s people are not rude? Such mentality, how sad?
Have you ask yourself this question too?
Do Americans speak what the Chinese think when they see fat people? Maybe whoever asked this question are not aware that other rude remarks, in this case the Americans style, is just as bad, ya?

Chinese people have been for the most part not fat, at all, slim and stylish people for the most part. However MacDonald’s is taking care of that, lots of very fat children and teenagers are porking out and getting acne now too thanks to MacDonald’s so tell her to go back in about 5 years and she will fit right in then because Chinese people are not big on fitness and the most exercise most of them get is shopping.
Some young men are active in sports but the rest lead very sedentary lives, so they catching up with other obese countries

Sorry to say, yes it’s possible. They don’t treat foreign born Chinese people that great unless you give them money. Other races visiting China will get somewhat a more hospitable welcome.
Foreign born Chinese are seen as… people who only look Chinese, on the inside you’re not Chinese. In the past they call us Juk Sing, which means bamboo. like Bamboo, on the outside you look Chinese. but you have nothing inside. Bamboo is hollow in the middle. American Born Chinese people often face prejudice from the Chinese community as well as the main stream community that they live in. It’s no wonder that Chinese American born women are willing to so easily marry white guy’s to try to get out of the prejudice they face every day. Young people only want to be accepted for who they are.

I was born in china and I’m chinese. We are just like americans. And we sometimes do speak what americans think when they see fat people. Most chinese people are skinny like me so it isn’t unusual for her to get picked on. However, I feel a bit sorry for her.
