Japan food is not ”chinese food” it’s Japanese food.
    Canada food is Canadian food.

What do people anywhere call “Canadian Food”?? In China, they’re aware of AMERICAN food, but if you asked anyone if they’d tried Canadian food, they’d look at you like you’re crazy. Come to think of it, they’d do the same in America. But to answer your question, they call hamburgers and pizza “American Food.”

Well, since you generalize about Asian food, and you’re on the American continent, they probably just call it American food.

We don’t call Japanese food “Chinese Food” where I live. We know the difference. Same with Korean and Thai.
    But way to generalize.

Um, well, it depends – the phrase that usually comes up among kids is “Caribou Muck” – but its a term of endearment for Canadian food, not making fun or light of it.

    Canadian bacon…
Sorry, but I didn’t know there was a very Canadian type of food…and I’m not trying to be sarcastic! I know American food, basically junk food, but I always thought Canadian food was influenced more by French cuisine. What types of food are Canada specific, if I may ask? This is honest curiosity, really!

Only the uneducated call Japanese food “Chinese food”. The rest of us call it “Japanese food”.

I think most people who DO eat Chinese food, Japanese food, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai food DO know the difference. In China, they probably call Canadian food – Canadian food if they KNOW it’s from Canada or American food if they KNOW it’s from America. If not, probably just Western or Caucasian food.
